Fostering
|
 |
Fostering is
one of the best ways to get involved in rescue. We are
desperately seeking foster homes. Foster homes provide a
safe haven for shelter Dals until we can find their "forever"
homes. Most of the time it is a matter of life or death.
Fostering can be a very rewarding experience, that you will
remember the rest of your life. |
|
Every day we
hear of Dalmatians dying in shelters all over the country.
With foster homes unavailable, we must let them go. The
hard truth is that some shelters do not euthanize the animals
humanely. So the dogs must suffer until the end.
When we are able to help, we have all the Dalmatians that we
pull evaluated for temperament. We do not willingly bring
any dog into the rescue that is not dog or people friendly.
Any type of aggressive behavior on the dogs part, will be evaluated by an
Adopt A Spot representative. Some Dals have never had love
and training and the foster home must provide that type of
environment. Some have lived outside, tied to trees and
they my not be housebroken. All the Dals are or will be
totally vetted soon after they arrive. |

there is a medical emergency need, lost dog, dog bite incident,
or aggression issues.
Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue has no prior knowledge of the

temperament, and will take due care to protect anyone who may
come in contact with the dog from harm.
Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue will not be held responsible for
damage to persons, property, or injury to other animals.
Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue will be financially responsible
for any veterinary care it deems necessary for the fostered dog
at a veterinarian of Dalmatian Rescue's choice, only if:
Prior approval has been received from Adopt A Spot Dalmatian
Rescue and Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue MUST be kept up to date
of the medical needs to have funds approved.
Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue foster dogs are the sole property
of the rescue until placement. This foster dog cannot be moved
from the residence or state without prior permission or advanced
notification to Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue.
Adopt A Spot requires a weekly update of both medical, emotional
and
physical well being of each individual foster dog. Updated
pictures are necessary to provide the most accurate information
of the dog to possible adopters. If updated photos cannot be
provided by the foster family then Adopt A Spot will make
arrangements for the dogs photos to be updated.
